Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) is an encryption and authentication technology.
ComQuest implements PKI infrastructures for enterprise authentication and is experienced at using a variety of peripheral technologies, such as smart cards and biometrics.
Some web-based publishers are interested in providing alternatives to account/password or Internet Protocol (IP)address based access control to their systems. Public Key based web site authentication/authorization can be such a replacement.
Users can access resources from any address on the Internet --the user obtains a personal certificate and provides a password for the browser's certificate store when prompted. Obtaining a certificate is handled by visiting an enrollment website and filling out a form, thus authenticating only once.
